Biographie :
Laurence John Fishburne III (né le 30 juillet 1961) est un acteur, dramaturge, producteur, scénariste et réalisateur américain. Il est connu pour avoir joué Morpheus dans la trilogie The Matrix, Jason "Furious" Styles dans le film dramatique Boyz n the Hood en 1991, Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller dans le film de guerre Apocalypse Now en 1979, et plus récemment "The Bowery King" dans la série de films de John Wick.
Pour son interprétation d'Ike Turner dans What's Love Got to Do With It, Fishburne a été nominé pour un Oscar du meilleur acteur. Il a remporté un Tony Award pour le meilleur acteur dans une pièce de théâtre pour sa performance dans Two Trains Running (1992), et un Emmy Award pour l'acteur invité exceptionnel dans une série dramatique pour sa performance dans TriBeCa (1993). Fishburne est devenu le premier Afro-Américain à incarner Othello dans un film d'un grand studio lorsqu'il a joué dans l'adaptation cinématographique de la pièce de Shakespeare d'Oliver Parker (1995).
Fishburne a joué dans plusieurs classiques cultes, dont Deep Cover et King of New York. De 2008 à 2011, il a joué le rôle du Dr Raymond Langston dans le drame policier de CBS CSI : Crime Scene Investigation et de 2013 à 2015, il a joué l'agent spécial Jack Crawford dans la série de suspense Hannibal de NBC. En 2013, il a joué le rôle de Perry White dans le film de Zack Snyder "Superman reboot Man of Steel" et en 2016, il a repris son rôle dans Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice dans le cadre de DC Extended Universe. Fishburne a joué Bill Foster dans le film Ant-Man and the Wasp, sorti en 2018 dans le cadre du Marvel Cinematic Universe.
